JCU alumni make novel discoveries — from Nashville to Northern California; from the emerging tech companies in Pittsburgh to banking and financial tech strongholds like New York and Chicago.
"I wanted to work at the intersection of science, innovation and entrepreneurship." Alex Mellott ’16, Associate Director (Strategic Drug Development), IQVIA
Fact: JCU ranks #1 in Ohio CPA Pass Rates and Bloomberg Businessweek ranked us #1 in the nation ranking for job readiness.

In four short years you will point to one or two great teachers who made a big difference. That’s how you’ll grow from vaguely undecided to plain unstoppable.

Vince R. Finds Purpose
Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry provided me with community and a deeper awareness of what I wanted out of college. My faith came alive, during regular mass and through service experiences and retreats. I’m grateful for my experiences.
— Vince Rizzo ‘23
Megan M. Digs Nature
Metro Parks
My favorite is the park in Brecksville where the bank of the creek is made up of clay. During the summer, it is so fun to utilize the clay in different ways. Community members mold the clay into a slide and everyone goes down. My sisters and I have been known to take the clay home and mold it into different shapes. It is so muddy, but totally worth it!
— Megan McDonald, ‘22
Nick T. Counts Baseballs
Cleveland Guardians
You make odd discoveries when you intern for a team like the Cleveland Guardians. The MLB logo first appeared in the 1969 season. Home plate is made by a company called Schutt Sports near St. Louis. A team will use between 85-115 balls each game, or 16,000 each season.
— Nick Tabone, ‘22
Veronica M. Loves Theater
PlayHouse Square
I love attending shows at PlayHouse Square because it is a piece of New York City, here in Cleveland. I have grown up in theater and it feels like home. Les Miserables is definitely my favorite show I have seen so far!
— Veronica Morgan, ‘22
Madi D. Goes Foodie
West Side Market
I love going to West Side Market and seeing all the different vendors and the diverse selection of food and desserts. It’s so fun to be able to go walk around and shop for things that I wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else.
— Madi Daube, ‘22
Rory F. Shops Local
Coventry Village
I like Coventry Village when I need an escape from school. I can grab a mocha milkshake, browse the used book, vintage clothing and record stores, and get back on campus before my computer program finishes running.
